Overview
An able and versatile actress, Linda Cardellini's resume ranges from children's films Scoody Doo and Good Burger and stoner comedy in Grandma's Boy, to heart-wrenching drama in films Brokeback Mountain and The Unsaid. She has also lit up the small screen with starring roles in television shows ER and Freaks and Geeks, and performed in the stage in productions such as Lancelot.

Personal life
Linda Edna Cardellini was born on June 25th, 1975 in Redwood City, California, USA. Her parents, Lorraine and Wayne, are of Italian and Irish ancestry. Linda began her acting career when she was asked to sing in a school production at the age of 11. After that, she knew she wanted to act professionally, and when she graduated High School, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career. In 2001, she graduated from Loyola Marymount University, with a degree in Theatre from the College of Communication and Fine Arts. From 2001, for around 5 years, Linda dated her Freaks and Geeks co-star, Jason Segel, and then had a shorter relationship with Grandma's Boy director Nic Goossen.

Career
Her professional debut came in 1996 when she landed the role of Sarah on Bone Chillers, an ABC children's show. After Bone Chillers, Linda starred in a string of TV roles, including Boy Meets World and 3rd Rock From the Sun. In 1997, the Nickelodeon kids' movie Good Burger - also starring comedy duo Kenan and Kel - provided Linda's debut movie role, in the part of Heather.
Many consider Linda's breakout role to be the part of Lindsay Weir in the short-lived series Freaks and Geeks, in 1999. Although the show was cancelled after one season, it retains a cult following and many fans of the show are still Linda fans to this day. Linda's part as the rebellious, confused Lindsay is often regarded as one of the best performances of her career.
Following the success of Freaks and Geeks, Linda's career began to take off, with roles in 2001's smash-hit Legally Blonde, and the independent movie with Andy Garcia, The Unsaid. 2002 brought even more success when Linda landed the role of Velma in the first Scooby Doo movie, and then the followup in 2004, Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. Linda's television career continued when, in 2003, she won the recurring part of feisty nurse Samantha Taggart, in the popular show, ER. Nurse Taggart remains a favourite character with audiences, and Linda's 5th season on the show is currently airing.
Through 2005 and 2006, Linda continued to star in successful movies such as American Gun and Jenna Fischer's independent, Lollilove, followed by the part of Cassie in Ang Lee's Oscar-winning epic, Brokeback Mountain. Linda's continued work on ER lead to a part in the 2007 western, Comanche Moon, the prequel to Larry McMurty's Lonesome Dove.
2008 holds many opportunities for Linda, and she is currently working on a new movie with Paul Walker and Piper Perabo, entitled The Heaven Project.
